This most ancient printing technique is for those of you that do not want to cut a block or are not comfortable with tools – it is painterly. This time you will “paint” a transparent plate, then transfer your design to paper using a press. You can do this at home with a rolling pin or barren! Each impression is unique – thus monoprint. Come explore this technique – Vermeer mastered this technique as well as did Manet, his ballet series were all drawn on top of a monoprint!♦
You will have approximately 10 minutes of working time before the paint dries so be ready to loosen up and play with your ink.
